Purpose
Colloquy Collective is a theatrical space for artists to expand their professional repertoire while recognizing the unique experiences created by their identity, history, and community. Through that, Colloquy Collective will expose the audience – particularly the audience of color—to the theatrical canon in contexts that acknowledges the identities, histories, and communities of that audience.
Simply, its purpose is threefold:
- to create, present, and discuss performance-based works for a broad community;
- to make both the creation and presentation of performance-based work more inclusive of all identities, cultures, and experiences; and,
- to expose the public to performance-based work from a variety of traditions, cultures, and contexts.
